Our client Verso Wealth Management has acquired advisory firm Campbell Thomson Insurance Services.
The Investments team at Thistle Initiatives was engaged by Verso to undertake compliance due diligence to acquire Glasgow-based advisory firm Campbell Thomson.
This acquisition by Verso puts their assets under management to more than £1bn and advances its strategy to build a national wealth management group.
Campbell Thomson, founded in 1978, is a second-generation firm providing specialist financial advice and planning for businesses and individuals across the UK. It has a team of 13 advisers, planners, researchers and support staff.
Campbell Thomson is the fifth acquisition by the Verso platform and the first one in Scotland.
Verso’s chief executive Andrew Fay said: “I am delighted to welcome everybody at Campbell Thomson to the group. It is an exciting time to join Verso as our plans begin to gather pace. With the support of our strategic partners, Cairngorm Capital Partners and their buy, build and transformation expertise, we are pursuing an ambitious consolidation plan, to build a market leading wealth management group with capabilities in financial advice and investment management, powered by the Verso platform. Campbell Thomson forms an important part of this.”
Campbell Thomson’s director Stewart Thomson added: “We are delighted to be joining Andrew and the team at Verso as the Verso model overcomes many of the challenges and inefficiencies in our market.
James Dingwall, CEO and founder at Thistle Initiatives said:
“Congratulation to Verso on this most recent acquisition success. It is always a pleasure to work with the team at Verso and provide acquisition due diligence support. Everyone at Thistle is excited to see what is in store next for them”.
