In June 2022, the FCA provided an update on its data strategy, showing the progress it has made in improving its use of data and its plans to identify and prevent harm sooner. The data strategy underpins the FCA’s recently issued three-year strategy to reduce and prevent serious harm, set higher standards and promote competition.
What are the key financial promotions points?
As part of the data strategy, the FCA is using advanced analytics and new sources of data to identify inappropriate financial promotions. It reports that in 2021, 564 promotions were withdrawn or amended, double the number in previous years.
